Robbie Williams has candidly spoken about his intricate ties with ex-bandmate Gary Barlow.
He has acknowledged that although they've buried the hatchet, their relationship will never be entirely as it was. The 50-year-old music legend reflected on their shared history and the tumultuous times with 53-year-old Barlow since their Take That era in the '90s. Robbie confessed, "there'll always be a scar" from the period of conflict.
Despite leaving Take That in the mid-'90s and finding huge success on his own, time has mended some wounds, leading to Robbie's reunion with the group in 2010 after a 15-year hiatus. In the documentary 'Boybands Forever', Robbie disclosed: "He phoned me up. We're mates now and I love him, and our relationship is 95% healed. There'll always be a scar, but he loves me. I love him."
This open revelation arrives just before the eagerly awaited Robbie Williams biopic 'Better Man', which will depict Robbie as a CGI monkey—a concept Robbie backs following discussions. Director Michael Gracey offered insights into this distinctive choice, stating: "I think we're very cinematically numb to seeing human suffering, but when we see an animal hurting, there is something very uncomfortable about that," reports OK!.

We have deep empathy and compassion for animals, way more than we do for humans." He told Deadline: "Mark [Owen], reached out last week and was like, 'Hey, Rob, me and the lads are all going to be in town. Can we see a screening of Better Man?' And I was like, 'Yes. I’d love you to.'
"Which of course I would, but also, I’m terrified because our relationship is so complicated and so healed that returning to the scene of the crime and talking in the way that I talked as a 17-year-old is bound to open old wounds for people." It will be released in the UK on Boxing Day.
Robbie and his wife Ayda Field have been open about the complexities of their relationship on their podcast, 'At Home with the Williamses'. Robbie has been reflecting on his life, with a biopic and a documentary about his time in a '90s boyband, and has spoken candidly about the ups and downs of his marriage to Ayda.
The couple, who married in 2010, have shared details of their rocky road to marriage, including the fact that they split up three times before tying the knot. On the podcast, Ayda spoke about Robbie's struggles with addiction and how it affected their relationship. She told Robbie: "You were in a dark place and did some dark things.
"Obviously, my heart was broken many times, but we got over it. It wasn't just finishing with me three times, it was more that when you finished with me you didn't tell me you were finishing with me, you just disappeared and then delivered my stuff in garbage bags."
