Robert Pattinson says fatherhood has made him more social: “It opens up a huge world!”

Robert Pattinson says becoming a dad has helped him be more outgoing, pushing the 38-year-old actor to engage with others in ways he never did before. He and his partner, Suki Waterhouse, welcomed their first child in March 2024, a life-changing moment. 

In an interview with GQ magazine, the actor most known for his Vampire role in the Twilight Saga revealed how this new phase in his life has changed him for the better. “It opens up a huge world! I’ve been such a hermit — like, I never really met my neighbors before. And now, because you’re just constantly in the playground all the time? I’m just hanging out with my neighbors."

The actor added, “There’s something so lovely about going to a random person’s house just because they have a kid around the same age and having daytime hangouts.” 

His excitement for this new chapter was contagious and evident in this interview. He continued by saying, “I can’t actually believe it’s happening to me, but like, having a barbecue on Sunday and saying like, ‘You, uh … you watch the game?’ I was like, this is dope. I love this.”

Robert Pattinson and Suki Waterhouse have always kept their relationship private, but rumors of a secret wedding emerged after a source hinted at an intimate ceremony. The couple, who welcomed their first child in March 2024, have only occasionally shared glimpses into their personal lives. Speaking to Access Hollywood on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards in New York this past September, Suki had nothing but praise for her partner: “He’s the greatest.

"When asked who her daughter resembles the most, she responded: “I don’t know. It’s just always changing. She has such a sweet nature. It’s really sweet to see.” As they navigate parenthood, we hope it encourages them to open up, allowing us to see more of Robert, Suki, and their daughter as they grow together.
