Sir Rod Stewart recently shared a heartwarming photograph showcasing his large and loving family during their outing to a Celtic Rangers soccer match, just weeks before he celebrates his milestone 80th birthday on January 10. The iconic "Maggie May" singer, who is happily married to Penny Lancaster, is a proud father of eight children.
In thel picture, alongside Rod and Penny are his children: Kimberly, who was born in 1979, and her brother Sean, born in 1980. They are joined by their younger siblings Ruby (1992), Renee (born 1992), Liam (born 1994), Alastair (born 2005), and the youngest, Aidan, who was born in 2011. Several of their partners also joined in for this special family moment.
The entire family beamed with joy, sporting vibrant Celtic gear that showcased their team spirit. Penny was seen radiating happiness from the top of the 2021/22 season while their eldest son, Sean, made a fashionable statement donning a traditional green kilt paired with a charming bonnet and a Celtic scarf.
Among the other family members, Renee opted for nostalgic flair by wearing the iconic home jersey from the 1989-91 season, a nod to the history of the club. Alastair, on the other hand, chose a jersey from the 2013-14 season, adding to the blend of fond memories and team pride reflected in their attire.
This joyful gathering not only highlights Rod's deep-rooted connection to his family but also their shared passion for Celtic football, making the day even more memorable.
Kimberly recently shared a picture of her daughter, whom she had with Benicio del Toro, posing in a complete Hoops kit alongside her grandfather.
Sir Rod was last seen at Celtic Park at the end of November during the Champions League match against Club Brugge.
Ironically, during a radio interview that week, he mistakenly got his son Alastair's age wrong, admitting that he "didn't know" any of his children's birthdays.
However, the singer received an early birthday present in the form of a 3-0 victory for Celtic at home against St Mirren, thanks to goals from Nicolas Kuhn (who scored twice) and Auston Trusty.
It comes as Glastonbury Festival announced Stewart is set to perform on the Pyramid stage in the Sunday teatime legends slot making him one of the oldest artists to perform in the slot.
The Handbags and Gladrags singer began his final Las Vegas residency after 13 years in August but promised he would continue performing and partying in his 90s.
He said: "I'm aware my days are numbered but I've got no fear. We have all got to pass on at some point, so we are all in the same basket.
"I am going to be enjoying myself for these last few years as much as I can. I say a few - probably another 15. I can do that easy mate, easy."
He admitted: '"'m not like I was in the '70s and '80s and I can't stay up all night, get drunk and go mad and still have a voice just like that.
"Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.
"But no, you think I just have water on my rider? You're talking to Rod Stewart here, mate. We go mad after every show. There are 13 of us, six women, really great musicians and I make them drink. We absolutely love it."
