Rosie O'Donnell has opened up about the difficult situation her daughter, Chelsea Belle O'Donnell, is currently facing.
Following two recent arrests in Wisconsin, Chelsea, 27, has been charged with several serious offenses, including drug possession and child neglect.
The charges stem from incidents in both September and October, with the legal issues bringing to light Chelsea's long-standing battle with addiction.
In October, Chelsea was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, narcotic drugs, drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer, according to Fox News Digital.
Just weeks earlier, in September, she had also been arrested on charges of child neglect and maintaining a drug trafficking place, as well as possession of methamphetamine and THC.
Court documents paint a troubling picture of Chelsea's home life. During a police search, officers reportedly found unsafe and unsanitary conditions in her residence, including drug paraphernalia and hazardous items within reach of children.
Authorities reported finding used meth pipes, razor blades, and unhygienic surroundings, describing the house as "disgusting."
The police also discovered disturbing conditions in her child's bedroom, including drug-related items, and noted that a meth pipe was within easy reach of the infant.
Child Protective Services intervened, ensuring the baby was placed in safe care.
Rosie O'Donnell's heartfelt response
Reacting to the situation, Rosie took to Instagram to address her daughter's latest legal troubles and addiction battle.
She shared a photo of Chelsea holding a baby and reflected on the family's ongoing struggle, writing: "Chelsea is in the news today - this is a photo from a better time.
"Sadly, this is not new for our family - Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade. We are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease."
Chelsea's second arrest, on October 11, came when police pulled her over and she appeared visibly nervous. During the stop, Chelsea allegedly attempted to discard a meth pipe by throwing it towards a river.
Officers also found used needles and prescription drugs during the search. These incidents have intensified concerns for her well-being, as well as the safety of her children.
Chelsea, who is a mother of four, including an 11-month-old son, has faced challenges related to addiction for many years. Despite these struggles, Rosie O'Donnell remains hopeful that her daughter will find a way out of the crisis.
"We are all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease," Rosie wrote in her emotional social media post.
As the legal process continues and court dates loom, the O'Donnell family remains hopeful that Chelsea will get the help she needs, as they navigate the difficult road ahead.
