Ryan Reynolds Confused By Martha Stewart Shade -- He's Only Met Her Twice! 

Ryan Reynolds is NOT happy Martha Stewart doesn’t think he’s funny!

If you missed it, Martha was on Bilt Rewards’ November Rent Free game show when she said Ryan was “not so funny in real life” and actually “very serious.” She dished last week:

“He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again … I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbor.”

Ouch! Ryan clearly prides himself on his comedic stylings first and foremost, so he couldn’t just let it go.

The Spirited star quickly responded, quipping on X (Twitter):

“I’d disagree with her. But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.”

LOLz!

Even his co-star Hugh Jackman chimed in — and he jokingly sided with Martha, busting Ryan’s chops! He teased, “Finally someone says it.” Hah!

Despite publicly trying to laugh off the diss, it turns out Ryan is seriously irritated by the comments! No, seriously. A source told TMZ on Tuesday that the Deadpool actor has been outspoken about his struggles with anxiety in the past, which can cause him to shut down around people sometimes. So they seem to think her “not funny” commentary is strongly affecting given his struggles! OOF!

Explaining Ryan’s personality more, the insider said Blake Lively‘s hubby likes to be quiet and doesn’t enjoy being “on” all the time. Totally fair! That’s probably true for a lot of Hollywood stars.

Here’s the real catch, though. Martha made it seem like she knew the Free Guy alum pretty well, especially by noting they were neighbors. But apparently, they hardly know each other! That’s why Ryan’s so confused by all this! The source insisted they’ve only met once or twice at a party, and Ryan isn’t sure what Martha expected from their conversations. He doesn’t think their brief interactions were enough to really get to know someone’s IRL personality. That’s probably true, too, though if he was super funny, she might’ve gotten a dose of that even in a quick convo. Just sayin’! Maybe her expectations were too high after seeing his movies?
