Rylan Clark has been inundated with messages from his celebrity pals as he marked his 36th birthday with a special tribute from his friend Rob Rinder

Rylan Clark has been swamped with love and well-wishes as he celebrated a milestone, turning 36, with his mate Rob Rinder giving him a special shout-out and revealing the special way they bonded.

The BBC Radio 2 favourite announced his big day on Friday (October 25) by posting a radiant new photo of himself on social media, captioned simply with "36," followed by a cake emoji.

It wasn't long before the birthday messages started pouring in from star-studded friends and adoring fans.

TV's Holly Willoughby was quick to send her regards, simply stating: "Happy birthday." Soap star Claire Sweeny echoed the sentiment with: "Happy birthday."

Italian dancer Vito Coppola, known for his moves on Strictly Come Dancing, added an Italian twist with: "Buon compleannooooo," reports the Manchester Evening News.

Even his home station, BBC Radio 2, chimed in with: "Happy birthday Rylan! !" Fans joined the chorus of celebrations, with @mindmouthsoul writing: "Happy Birthday you wild and wonderful man. To the next 36, and then the next."

Artist @nicolagrundyart complimented: "Happy Birthday Rylan; you don't look a day older than 20! " while @beryllynne1 encouraged: "Happy Birthday Rylan. Keep on being you! You brighten the world."

Admirer @kathyreynolds15 reminisced: "You've come a long way since X Factor. Your talented and make people laugh with your fab personality . 36 never! ! You look amazing. Have a great birthday." And @lizziea praised: "Happy Birthday you beautiful Human Being. Keep being you."

In a touching gesture, Rylan's buddy Rob Rinder took to Instagram to post snapshots of their escapades in Italy from last year, captured during the filming of their own show for BBC2.

Alongside the snap, the Good Morning Britain presenter shared a heartfelt message and revealed how their friendship was sparked: "Happy birthday @rylan beautiful on the inside and the outside... 'Friendship is born at the moment when one man says to another What! You too? I thought that no one but myself. .."

The post quickly garnered a flurry of admiring comments from fans, who were delighted by the TV duo's friendship. @karenck88 gushed: "Love your friendship. We need more beautiful role models like to inspire us. Happy Birthday Rylan and please do more work together."

Other comments included: "This is beautiful. You are both gorgeous men," and, "Love love these two together beautiful friendship hope they do more in tele. Happy Birthday Rylan."

Fortunately for fans of the pair, there's more to come. Earlier this year, BBC2 aired Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, which followed the duo as they explored Italy's greatest art treasures in destinations like Venice, Florence, and Rome, retracing the steps of 19th-century romantic poet Lord Byron and other Grand Tourists.

Rylan confirmed earlier this month that he and Rob will reunite for a new TV show, building on the success of their Italian escapade. Rylan took to Instagram to post a cheerful selfie with his co-star and gushed: "So excited we're back for season 2 and this time we're off to INDIA. Bumped into each other yesterday and this is how excited we are. Thank you everyone that watched our show and we can't wait until we get going for S2. I'll try not to kill him."
