Mexican actress Salma Hayek often shares on social media some moments of her life full of luxury, which many might think is due to the fortune of her billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault, but the actress prefers to depend on her own income.

In an interview with WSJ magazine, the Veracruz native confessed that she likes to earn her money and always seeks to obtain more income, without relying on her husband's billions.

"I support many aspects of my life and myself. I have the pressure to earn a certain amount of money and I like it, and now I decided that I want to earn more,"Hayek told WSJ.

Hayek boasts separate finances with her husband

The 58-year-old actress boasted that her husband admires her way of working and "finds it quite sexy" that they manage their finances separately, even though "there is no prenuptial agreement dividing the assets."

According to WSJ, Salma comes from a wealthy family, as her father was an oil executive, who lost his fortune when she was 20 years old, then moved to Los Angeles and emphasized in the interview that it was the moment when she became the best version of herself.

Hayek reflected on her view of money, especially after marrying the French businessman, and realised that it was a recurring theme among the people around her.

"For me, the exciting thing about having a lot of money was that I didn't have to think about money, and it turned out that the only thing people wanted to talk to me about was money," Salma recalled, adding that many people approached her just for financial reasons: "Strangers come to see me who are not even friends, but they think we should be friends because they are also rich."
