Samsung Galaxy S25 launch reportedly happening on January 22

1 week ago 2

According to new reports, Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S25 series on January 22, a bit later than the Galaxy S24’s launch date.

Samsung has been moving up the launch of its flagship Galaxy S series for the past few years, with the Galaxy S24 series launching on January 17, 2024. Next year, though, that launch date may be moved back.

Multiple sources are now reporting that the Galaxy S25 will launch in the third week of January, with FNNews reporting a January 23 unveiling. Max Jambor, a reliable source, says this will be on January 22. This is due to the time difference, with the event likely to take place on January 23 in Korea, but on the 22nd if it is hosted in other parts of the globe. Samsung has been hosting its Galaxy S launches in California for the past few years, and apparently San Francisco is a “strong candidate” for the next Unpacked yet again. For the Galaxy S24, the event was hosted in San Jose.

At this event, Samsung would launch the core Galaxy S25 trio of smartphones, and apparently may also show off the Galaxy S25 “Slim” which was expected to launch later in the year, but the company is reportedly trying to complete development ahead of this Unpacked event.

Moving back the launch date of the Galaxy S25 would also suggest a later release date. With Galaxy S24 having gone on sale on January 31, that likely means the Galaxy S25 won’t go on sale until February.
