Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently residing in a low-security dorm alongside an American entrepreneur who was convicted of fraud with some alleged perks, it's been reported.
The disgraced rapper, 55, is awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering charges in the 4 North unit of Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn, according to US media. It's thought the dorm facility has leaner rules than the general population confinement and inmates are able to pass the time playing air hockey and are treated to more appetising meals.
Not only that, it's claimed the unit is also home to an unintended feature that appeals to inmates with an interest in voyeurism. Speaking to The New York Post, Gene Borrello, a former mob enforcer who spent time in the unit, alleges: "There are grates in one of the rooms of 4 North.. They have little holes. If you lay down, you can look through the holes and talk to the women one floor down and see them."

AP)Combs, who lived a life of luxury prior to his arrest and detainment, will be "bored" inside the 4 North unit of Metropolitan Detention Centre (MDC) in Brooklyn but will be safe from the violence taking place in other units, Jeff Nadu claims. Nadu, who hosts the crime-history podcast The Sitdown with Jeff Nadu, notes how Combs dorms is usually reserved for high-profile inmates, like Sam Bankman-Fried, an American entrepreneur who was convicted of fraud and related crimes in November 2023, and, prior to his conviction, R. Kelly.
"It can be super boring," Nadu said of life inside the special unit, adding: "Go into the regular units and it’s nonstop cutting and stabbing and fighting. So it’s kind of better to avoid all that." Combs will also be afforded more freedom than other inmates inside the jail.
A friend of Bankman-Fried, one of Combs' fellow famous inmates, tells the American publication how the 4 North unit is specifically set up for high-profile residents. "You envision them in small cells but they are actually in a unit that is set up like a dorm and designed for high-profile individuals. The president of Honduras was there," he claims.
He goes on to claim that while it may be slightly nicer than general population, inmates still sleep on "very small beds, even smaller than twins and no more than a foot apart from one another" and "only have a thin curtain for privacy" when it comes to bathrooms and showers.

Arrested on September 16, Combs has been held without bail in jail since, awaiting his trial next year.
In a September court appearance, the music mogul appeared sombre, reflecting the gravity of his situation after spending three weeks in federal custody. Courtroom sketches depicted the 54 year old looking despondent, dressed in a loose-fitting prison shirt, as evidence was reviewed for his forthcoming trial.
In light of civil lawsuits being launched alongside the criminal charges, Combs' legal representatives released a statement on last month: "The press conference and 1-800 number that preceded today's barrage of filings were clear attempts to garner publicity. Mr Combs and his legal team have full confidence in the facts, their legal defences, and the integrity of the judicial process. In court, the truth will prevail: that Mr Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone - adult or minor, man or woman."
