UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley has once again found himself at the center of controversy, this time for messaging viral internet sensation Hailey Welch-known for her infectious "Hawk Tuah" catchphrase.
Swiftly caught by eagle-eyed fans, the revelation has left many questioning the fighter's intentions, given that he is married to Danya Gonzalez, with whom he shares a daughter.
While O'Malley's messages to Welch have reportedly been friendly and not explicit, the situation has reignited backlash due to his public stance on infidelity. Fans see the fighter's messaging habits as a reflection of his controversial lifestyle, which he openly defended during a recent appearance on Bradley Martyn's Raw Talk podcast.
"I'm a king, I pay for everything," O'Malley boasted unapologetically. "I treat Danya like a queen. If I get a little p*ssy on the side, what does that have to do with anything? I have testosterone running through my veins-it's that f*cking simple."
His wife does not approve of his beliefs
O'Malley acknowledged that his wife isn't entirely on board with his open-relationship philosophy. "She's never fine with it, but she's gone through phases where she's let it happen," he admitted.
The fighter insists that his wealth and success justify his behavior, adding, "If I wasn't paying for everything... If I was just an average Joe, I probably wouldn't [cheat]. But I'm f*cking King Kong, baby."
This isn't the first time O'Malley has spoken about his unconventional relationship. In a 2022 episode of the Full Send podcast, he revealed that he was upfront with Danya from the start, explaining he didn't believe in traditional monogamy. "Neither of us should feel like we own each other," he said at the time.
The Hawk Tua Girl has not responded
While O'Malley's next UFC opponent has yet to be announced, he's expected to return to the Octagon before the end of the year. Whether his personal life will overshadow his performance in the cage remains to be seen, but his recent behavior has undoubtedly given fans and critics alike plenty to talk about.
Welch revealed the controversial situation, making it clear that he has no interest in the fighter. However, fans continue to question O'Malley's intentions, given his unconventional viewpoint.
