‘Self-loathing’ Fearne Cotton reveals she’s having therapy every week after split from husband Jesse Wood

'SELF-LOATHING' Fearne Cotton has revealed that she’s having therapy every week, after splitting from her husband Jesse Wood.

The 43-year-old star revealed the sessions while putting together a complication of clips from her Happy Place podcast, about therapy and mental health.

Fearne announced she and husband Jesse had split after 10 years of marriage last year.

She shared the shock news on social media, five months after she and musician Jesse, 48, celebrated their anniversary.

Now, Fearne has opened up on her therapy sessions, as she said: “It’s something I definitely don’t wanna miss, don’t feel like I could miss, actually.

“It has helped me insurmountably, it’s kind of hard to explain. The reason it’s helped me is stuff from the past still troubles me greatly that I need to constantly find tools to land on some peace with.

“That’s a big one for me and I think we’ve all got little cycles and habits we fall into and mine is to be really bloody horrible to myself.

“I can be a right arsehole to myself internally and berate myself and fall into self-loathing. Some of that is related to the past.”

Fearne continued: “Therapy helps me not fall into a self-loathing spiral. It’s helped me massively. I’ll say it’s changed my life, actually."

Broadcaster Fearne has faced a tough time of late after she revealed earlier this month she'd had surgery to remove two tumours on her jawline.

Then shortly after that she announced hers and Jesse’s split.

She wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.

"Our priority has been and always will be our children.

"We please ask that you respect the privacy of our family at this time."

An insider believes the pair drifted apart after Happy Place podcast host Fearne fell deeper into the wellness rabbit hole.

A pal told the Mail: "They are a lovely couple, but Fearne has changed a lot since they got together.

"She was a kind of rock chick when they first met and now she has turned into a bit of a hippy dippy therapy type."

Fearne and Jesse met in Ibiza in 2011 shortly after his divorce from first wife Tilly.

They recalled how they hit it off on a date filled with cigarettes and vodka when they were both at their hedonistic peak.

But in the years since then, recovering alcoholic Jesse has gone teetotal and Fearne has turned her back on her hard-partying ways to focus more on family and spirituality.
