MILF Manor star Kelle Mortensen says it’s a “miracle” her son, Joey Burford, is “alive.” Her statement comes after the 21-year-old endured a “serious scooter accident” which left him requiring facial reconstruction surgery.
The reality TV stars rose to fame during MILF Manor season 1. Kelle wasted no time in getting to know her co-stars on the TLC show last year. Kelle and Joey returned for season 2 this year and the mother and son’s bond was tested once again. Outside of the show, a terrifying accident has Kelle fundraising to help pay for her son’s medical bills.

Kelle adds how Joey is facing “mounting medical bills,” and “…with a long and challenging road to recovery” in front of him, there’s no idea on when he’ll be able to return to work.
The MILF Manor star says: “We are setting up this GoFundMe to help cover Joey’s medical expenses, surgeries, and monthly bills while he focuses on healing.”
In the first update post on the fundraising page, Kelle writes: “Joey had a 3-hour successful surgery last night to fix some of the shattered bones in his face.”
She adds how her son “still has the breathing tube in and the bleeding on the brain is less.”
Kelle tells fans: “We are lucky he’s still alive and it’s a total miracle that he didn’t break his neck or back.”
Kelle is raising money for her son
Providing fans an update on October 21, Kelle shares some images of Joey as he recovers in the hospital.
The TLC star can be seen lying in a hospital bed with a bloodied face and bandages across his face and head.
Kelle firstly thanks people for their “generosity” before explaining her son currently has “plates and screws in his face” following the accident and consequent surgeries.
“Joey will be on a liquid diet for the next six weeks due to the plates and screws in his face. As of this morning at 9 AM, he successfully had his breathing tube taken out. Although he has faced some challenges, including the need for extensive dental work and additional facial surgeries, we are relieved to report that the bleeding on his brain has stopped and has not worsened,” she writes.
Kelle adds how her son is “remaining in the ICU to undergo a swallow test today.”
“If all goes well, he may be transferred to another floor and could potentially be discharged from the hospital by Wednesday or Thursday this week,” she adds.
