Sister Wives star Christine Brown opened up about her wedding with ex-husband Kody Brown and why she was disappointed with the event.
“I’m really excited to walk down the aisle. I’ve never had that experience before,” Christine, 52, said while planning her nuptials with David Woolley during the Sunday, October 27, episode of the TLC series. “When I got married before, it was just a religious ceremony, and it was all indoors. This would just be awesome to have a walking down the aisle thing, so I’m super excited because I’ve never done that before.”
Later, during a confessional, Christine recalled the moment from Kody, 55, and Janelle Brown’s daughter Madison Brown’s 2016 wedding to Caleb Brush that made her want a ceremony redo.
“So, when Maddie got married and we were all there at her wedding, I was like, ‘Gosh, this would have been great to get, actually.’ I even told Kody, ‘If we ever get married again,’ – because I assumed I would just marry him again, like a recommitment, whatever – ‘I really want to walk down the aisle. He’s like, ‘OK,’ and so, whatever, didn’t happen. It’s fine,” Christine told producers.
Janelle, 55, also gave some details on what her wedding to the Coyote Pass owner was like.
“So when [Kody and I] married before in our church, it’s not a big deal. There’s not a big walk down the aisle. It’s a religious ceremony and afterwards, you kind of have a little bit of a party,” she explained. “We had a very, very small get-together at his mother’s house. I didn’t even have a dress.”
“Christine opens up about how she didn’t get the wedding of her dreams when she married Kody on #SisterWives,” TLC captioned a clip of the scene on TikTok.
Christine, Janelle and Meri Brown have all divorced Kody, while Robyn Brown is the reality TV star’s last remaining wife.
Only Christine has moved on to another marriage so far following her November 2021 split from Kody. She met David, 60, on the dating app Stir in October 2022, and they met in person for the first time that December. The relationship moved quickly, with the couple picking out a wedding venue in January 2023 before they officially got engaged. David and Christine went public with their romance in February 2023, got engaged that April and tied the knot that October.
In another moment from Sunday night’s episode, Kody and Christine’s daughter Ysabel Brown expressed concern at how quickly her mother’s relationship was moving.
“I’m really happy for her. She’s sparkling and glowing,” Ysabel, 21, said of Christine. “And he is absolutely smitten with her, and he should be. And he’s incredible with [Christine and Kody’s youngest daughter] Truely, and his children are phenomenal. But it is moving extremely fast. Faster than I think I would like it to.”
Janelle also said it seemed fast, adding, “She was telling us about David. Seems kind of soon, but it’s just one of those things, I guess, ‘If you know, you know,’ they say.”
Even Christine admitted that the romance was a whirlwind, but it didn’t bother her.
“Hey, we’ve been dating for a good, like, six weeks to two months already,” she said. “Oh yeah, we’re on top of it. We’re not taking it slow. I’m 50!”
