Sister Wives star Christine Brown is confident that she found the love of her life in David Woolley, though she admitted to experiencing “stress” before he met her ex-husband, Kody Brown, and former sister wives.
“It was a lot of stress leading up to it,” Christine, 52, told Entertainment Tonight in an interview posted on Wednesday, November 6, while reflecting on David, 60, meeting Kody, 55, as well as Janelle Brown, Meri Brown and Robyn Brown, for the first time.
While Christine was nervous, David said that he went into the experience with the intention of being his authentic self. “I’m me, and I just be me, and if people don’t like it, then I don’t know what to do,” he said.
“We’ve filmed a little bit and it was OK,” David continued about filming the show with Kody, Janelle, 55, Meri, 53, and Robyn, 46. “I don’t get nervous at all. I’m not intimidated by people and it doesn’t bother me at all.”
The couple also said that everyone from Christine’s former family was “respectful” while meeting David. “It’s just like any other woman that I’ve dated. I’ve met their ex. It’s no big deal,” he added.
Christine then praised her husband for making everything “simple and uncomplicated,” explaining that he doesn’t “worry” or “stress” about things.
Following her split from Kody in November 2021, Christine confirmed her romance with David in February 2023. The couple got engaged in April 2023, and they wasted no time and got married in October of that year.
Christine and David recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary on October 7, though fans are currently getting to watch the early days of their relationship play out on the show.
In a teaser clip for the Sunday, November 10, episode shared by Us Weekly, Christine introduced her then-boyfriend to Kody. “How long have you guys been dating?” the Brown patriarch immediately asked.
After Christine shared that they had been dating for “a month and a half,” Kody asked if David had met their six kids and their grandchildren.
“He knows all the kids,” Christine responded, and their daughter Mykelti Padron (née Brown) shared that David “babysat [the grandkids] by himself while we went and got pedicures.”
“I’m used to a lot of kids. I’ll have 10 grandkids. I have eight kids,” David told Kody and Robyn, while they responded by nodding their heads. “I’ve been around polygamy my whole life. I’m used to a lot of kids. Large groups don’t bother me at all.”
David went on to reflect on the interaction in a confessional with Christine. “The first thing he said was, ‘I heard you held my grandkids.’ And Mykelti says, ‘Well, he did more than that, he babysat them,’” he recalled. “He got really red in the face.”
Meanwhile, Kody shared his own take on the meeting in a confessional. “What was interesting is David made more eye contact with Robyn and talked to Robyn way more than me,” the TLC personality said.
