Snoop Dogg has responded to Kendrick Lamar’s lyrics addressing him on his surprise new album, GNX.
“K dot new album GNX,” wrote the rap legend, followed by a series of fire emojis. “It was the edibles west west king."
Snoop’s response came after Lamar shared his thoughts about him reposting Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” in the midst of their ongoing beef.
On the song “wacced out murals” on GNX, Lamar rapped, “Snoop posted 'Taylor Made,' I prayed it was the edibles/I couldn't believe it, it was only right for me to let it go.”
On “Taylor Made Freestyle,” Drake used AI technology to rap verses using both Snoop Dogg and 2Pac’s voices. The track was eventually under threat of a lawsuit by Tupac Shakur’s estate — but not before Snoop reacted to it on Instagram.
“They did what? When? How? Are you sure? [Sigh] Y’all have a good night,” he said in a quick video. “Why everybody calling my phone, blowing me up? What the fuck— what happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed. Good night.”
Drake, as Snoop on “Taylor Made Freestyle,” egged on Lamar to hop into the beef and release a diss track. As Snoop, Drake rapped, 'Cause right now it's looking like you writing out the game plan on how to lose/How to bark up the wrong tree and then get your head popped in a crowded room."
Lamar’s new album, GNX, also addresses Lil Wayne and the wider response that the rapper’s been receiving ever since it was announced that he’ll be performing at the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans.
“I used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/Irony, I think my hardwork let Lil Wayne down,” rapped Lamar, before later adding “Got the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me, all these n***as agitated I’m just glad it’s on their faces.”
