Wayne Rooney has promised to have a love poem ready for his wife Coleen when she leaves the Jungle.

Coleen revealed to campmates that the Man United and England legend is a budding poet.

And Wayne, talking about his love of poetry, confirmed he was penning a new one for his childhood sweetheart missus.

He said: “I’ve always liked doing and writing poems and expressing my feelings in a different way as well. And yeah, so there’ll be one waiting for her for sure.”

The current Plymouth Argyle manager also said that he would one day like to enter the jungle. Asked if he would ever do the show, he said: “Maybe, if I’m not working, I would like to do it. But at the minute, obviously, that’s not possible.”

Speaking to ITV’s spin-off show, he revealed it was the longest he had been without seeing her Coleen since they were children.

“I think it’s the longest, you know, I’ve been without speaking to her since we were kids,” he says. “And for the children, obviously it’s difficult not being able to speak to the mum.

"But Coleen’s parents are helping out obviously, while I’m over in Plymouth living there at the minute with my work. There’s a good team looking after the kids and making sure everything is done. And so, we’re missing her, but we’re enjoying watching as well.”

Wayne said he had been voting for her to do the trials -as well as urging his millions of followers to vote for her to do a trial.

Speaking before she was voted to do last night’s Bushtucker with Dean, he admits: “Yes I would love for her to do a trial. It’s all part of the experience, and I think she’d be great as well.”

Proud Wayne said that she had been doing a brilliant job in camp – and that he was glued to the box.

“It’s strange to be honest seeing her out there in the jungle, but I think she’s doing a great job. I think she’s showing everyone her personality, character, and I’m really enjoying the show. So yes, it’s strange, but she’s doing us all proud,” he said.

Asked if he was pleased people were seeing the ‘real’ Coleen, Wayne said: “She’s a nice person, a warm person and a very caring person. And I think that’s coming across, you know, I think she’s probably in the middle of the older ones and the young ones, so she’s probably bridging that gap little bit.

"But I think she’s absolutely shown her personality, character, and I think that’s coming across strong. So, it’s great to see it in there and see her settling in as well over the last few days.”
