Preparing a Christmas feast can be a daunting task, with the rush to the supermarket for fresh vegetables and the hope that turkeys are still in stock.

However, Iceland may have solved this festive stress with their £25 'Christmas Dinner in a Box'.

The frozen food experts have assembled a box containing all the essentials for a perfect roast dinner.

I had the opportunity to try it out and was immediately struck by the quality of the packaging.

The large, robust box won't fit in your freezer, but it's useful to keep as it contains all the cooking instructions on an easy-to-follow board that you can display in your kitchen on December 25.

Plus, if you prefer, most of the items can be cooked in an air fryer, reports the Mirror.

My advice for preparing Iceland's £25 Christmas dinner in a box

Firstly, make sure to put your turkey in the oven. It was incredibly simple to cook from frozen, and for an hour and a half, I could relax without worrying about prepping vegetables or checking on the turkey; I simply made a cup of tea and took it easy.

The beef dripping roast potatoes need to be cooked at gas mark 7, while everything else requires gas mark 6, so I suggest using the air fryer for the potatoes.

The box also includes a generous amount of parsnips, so you might not need them all, unless you have a parsnip enthusiast in your household.

Pan frying is the best method for the carrots and Brussels sprouts, which is great as it frees up oven space.

I actually felt involved in the process, stirring them around the pan; it felt like I was truly cooking.

Buttery turkey, sweet carrots and crisp yet fluffy roast potatoes

The Christmas dinner served up was visually appealing, with the vibrant colours of the carrots and Brussels sprouts adding to its allure.

After allowing the turkey to rest, it was carved into generous slices that were both moist and well-seasoned, thanks to the bacon's flavour-sealing properties and the stuffing's complementary taste.

The roast potatoes were a delight, crispy on the outside and fluffy within, surpassing even the renowned Aunt Bessie's frozen variety.

The uniquely shaped bauble carrots were a hit, as was the star-shaped butter, I could just eat these one their own. The sprouts were fresh and slightly sweet, a treat for those who appreciate them.

However, the parsnips were somewhat dry, their appeal somewhat diminished by the other vegetables. A touch of honey during cooking might have improved their texture.

The gravy was flavoursome but a tad thin.

In conclusion, this Christmas dinner is a fantastic value for money. The quality of the ingredients leans towards the luxurious side, making it a meal I'd be delighted to have on Christmas Day.

Its preparation was straightforward, and the clean-up was minimal, which is always a plus. It also comfortably serves four people.

However, everyone has their own unique Christmas traditions and for us, it just wouldn't be the same without Yorkshire puddings. We're also big fans of adding mash and peas to our roasts, but these are simple additions.

So, if you're not a seasoned cook but still want to wow your guests with a showstopping meal this festive season, or simply want to take a break from the stress of preparation, this delicious dinner is the perfect solution.
