A source claimed the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast “doesn’t buy” the rumors that Kyle is a “lesbian,” and the insider shared why they keep “bringing it up” on camera. Kyle has been separated from husband, Mauricio Umansky, since 2023.
That same year, Kyle and country singer Morgan Wade made a music video in which they nearly kissed. Fans then began to speculate that the two friends were romantically involved. Throughout the show, several castmates have also alluded to the rumors.
In the latest episode, Garcelle Beauvais told Kyle directly: “If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian.” Kyle later suggested that Garcelle intentionally made the comment in the hopes that it would rattle her.
“The cast doesn’t buy Kyle being a lesbian nor really believe she is a lesbian,” said a source who’s close to production, in an interview with OK!.
The source claimed Kyle wouldn’t ever be in a romantic relationship with a woman.
“Think back to when she and Teddi Mellencamp were so shocked to learn about Denise Richards and Brandi Glanville,” said the insider, referring to Brandi’s past claim that she once hooked up with Denise, who denied it. “She was acting like she was so appalled and confused that a woman could be with another woman.”
According to the source, the cast isn’t “buying” the “thought” of Kyle dating a woman, but the costars continue “bringing it up” because “if she’s going to try to use [it as] a distraction or storyline… well, then they’re gonna call her out on it.”
On a recent episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, Garcelle claimed that her comment wasn’t an attempt to push Kyle to come out – but she wanted her costar to “own it” and “be authentic.”
“I feel like Kyle cares a lot about what people think and how this is gonna look,” said the star. “If this is who you are or even if you’re discovering it, discover it and own it.”
Kyle, however, believes that Garcelle knows “exactly” what she’s doing, and was “being an a**hole” when she made the comment.
