A source shared insight into Kyle Richards’ new living situation with Teddi Mellencamp, who recently moved in after filing for divorce from Edwin Arroyave. Meanwhile, amid rumors that both Teddi and Edwin cheated, Teddi wrote a post about moving “forward” from her “mistakes.”
Kyle, who befriended Teddi years ago on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, is also separated from her own husband, Mauricio Umansky. And now that three of her kids are out of the house, there’s apparently plenty of room.
Last month, Teddi revealed she’s going back and forth between Kyle’s house and the home she once shared with Edwin, who switches off with her so their kids can stay in the house at all times.
Speaking to In Touch, a source addressed Kyle and Teddi’s living situation.
“Kyle has always been like a big sister to Teddi, so this is a best case situation for them both in this scenario. Teddi is absolutely in need of some support, regardless of the circumstances. The loss of her marriage to [Edwin] and life partner of so many years is very, very hard,” said the source. “Kyle is further on the journey of this whole divorced life and can guide her.”
“This has been a huge time of change for [Kyle] too, there are times she gets lonely so having Teddi around is a great blessing,” the source continued. “They’re having a lot of fun, every night is girls’ night in. They have other friends over and just chill out with good food. They’re working out together, shopping, going to spas together. There are still feelings to work through with their exes but having each other to lean on is helping so much.”
A few weeks back, Teddi addressed the convenience of living part-time at Kyle’s.
“This is how you know there are real friendships to be made [on reality TV],” said the star on her Diamonds in the Rough podcast. “I was like, ‘Am I gonna get a place to live?’ I just zip on over, it’s close, easy. She cooks. Sometimes. We’re just starting. We’re newly into it.”
In a January 1 Instagram post, Teddi hinted at moving “forward” from her “mistakes.”
“Every New Year, I pick a word to guide me. In 2025, my word is a mindset as well as an action: FORWARD,” she wrote. “Forward from my mistakes. Forward to allowing myself to not be perfect. Forward from my failures … Forward from the judgement of others. Forward to continuing to learn how to love myself.”
She added, “I’m looking forward to a year of potential, opportunity, growth, and peace.”
