Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 9 Recap: More Honey Than Any Honey Bee

2 hours ago 5

Last week on Southern Charm Season 10, Shep started to worry his girlfriend Sienna was pulling away. Meanwhile, Patricia told Madison that Sienna approached Whitney before Shep. Austen and Craig continued to be at odds, and Austen didn’t take Craig’s offer of $30,000 for the podcast. Venita took the initiative and had JT over for dinner. Despite heavily flirting with her and repeating that his mom wants them to get married, JT dropped that he has a girlfriend. Here’s what happened this week on Southern Charm Season 10 Episode 9, “The Birds & the ‘B’s.”

This week, Shep continues to sense Sienna pulling away. And just before the cast trip to the Bahamas, no less. Craig and Paige go to a farm to check out honey bees but fight over the buzz from others judging their relationship timeline. Craig and Shep’s relationships are also the subject of conversation at Miss Patricia’s annual guys’ dinner.

Venita fills Leva in on JT

Leva calls Venita to see how the dinner with JT went last week. She’s also shocked by the girlfriend news. Considering how much time Leva and JT spend together, she also finds it odd that he never mentioned he was seeing anyone. Leva can’t believe how much JT led Venita on, wondering what his plan was (same, Leva). Leva calls him a “jerk” and adds, “I’m so mad at this loser.”

After their dinner, JT texted Venita that he was not trying to make her look like a homewrecker. She feels like it’s too late for that. In a confessional, she admits a little part of her heart is shattered. Venita’s “this is why we can’t have nice things” pillow says it all.

Madison makes Austen her GBF

As we saw last week, Madison and Austen are getting along great as friends. Years after their split, Austen says he feels like her GBF (gay best friend). They meet at a bar for oyster shooters, and Madison wears a “bored housewife” hat. Austen compares her outfit to a Hilary Duff music video.

As they laugh over the disgusting shots, they unpack Austen’s conversation with Craig last week. Austen says that Craig makes him feel like a thirteen-year-old girl, wondering why a boy doesn’t like him. Madison advises him to play hard to get.

Austen admits he misses Madison and wishes they could’ve hung out like this years ago. It really does feel like this is the relationship they were always meant to have. Side note, congrats to Madison and Brett on their pregnancy!

Can Paige be the queen bee in her own relationship?

Craig and Paige consider getting honey bees, one step closer to his fantasy of living on a farm. When they actually encounter the bees, Paige gets scared. She briefly perks up when she hears male bees die after mating. But overall, she starts to think it’s better to just get honey from the store.

As they go to pet some goats, Paige admits she doesn’t think she wants to live on a farm. Even if it’s a nice fantasy. This leads to another conversation about the state of their relationship.

Paige does want kids, but she knows she isn’t ready yet. And she admits to feeling some pressure from Craig about it. She reminds Craig no one pressured him to have a kid at 31. A flashback reminds us he wasn’t ready for kids then. She points out the double standard of Craig, Austen, and Shep, who are all older than her and had prolonged bachelor days, insisting she settle down right now.

Paige points out that she is the one who would carry a baby, so it should be her decision. I am completely on Paige’s side here and think this argument should end there. It’s disheartening to see Paige vilified for knowing what she wants. Honestly, it’s mature of her to recognize she’s not ready to have a child. She also point blank says that if Craig wants her to have a baby right now or he leaves, he would have to leave. Craig insists she sends mixed messages, but she seems pretty clear to me.

Molly the model mermaid

This week, we see Molly in her model element at a poolside photo shoot for accessories. She notes that Charleston modeling is much more commercial, whereas her usual niche is more high fashion. We see a clip of her walking down the runway on Project Runway.

Molly recalls that she wanted to be a model at a very young age. She went to a scout, who told her to come back when she grew out her hair and got taller. Then she had a six-and-a-half-inch growth spurt, which made it easier to pursue her dream.

Posing in the pool, she looks like a mermaid. The photographer gushes at Molly for making her job easy. Molly is a natural, both as a model and a star of this show. Look at her getting second chair at the reunion in her first season!

Shep spirals over Sienna

Shep and Sienna are communicating more frequently than last week, but he’s still anxious about the relationship. It doesn’t help that the conversation is super awkward. Sienna seems unenthusiastic about the cast visiting her in a few weeks. She claims she’s super busy, but when Shep calls her “the busiest 26-year-old in the Northern Hemisphere” she counters, “I have lots of free time.” The cast trip to the Bahamas should be interesting!

Whitney goes off the rails at Patricia’s guys’ dinner

Patricia sets up her annual guys’ dinner with a Napoleonic theme. New cast member Ryan joins this year. Whitney just got back from Cannes. Whether jet lag or something else, he was in rare form. And not just because he broke a chair.

Whitney is appalled that Shep took Patricia driving in the Rolls-Royce. And for good reason, as it turns out Patricia almost hit a pedestrian (and did hit a curb) because she can’t see. This is further proven when she struggles to read Craig’s suit tag that says “smile, you’re on camera.”

When Craig brings up that Paige’s family is from the Barolo region, same as the wine, he gets grilled. Patricia asks if he’s considered an ultimatum. Craig insists he likes where they are now. But Whitney gets pushy about the timeline and where they’ll live. Ryan, the only guy at the table who is married, mentions how an engagement can make things more secure. Craig claims he is going to propose, and even showed Paige some rings.

When Shep laments about Sienna, Whitney says she’s waffling because Shep isn’t rich or famous enough. He claims she has “no interest” in Shep and reveals that Sienna approached him first on Raya. Shep doesn’t want to give Whitney’s words credence. He hopes the Bahamas trip will remind Sienna how good they are together.

We end with a midseason trailer, and it looks like the Bahamas trip is going to be a doozy. Also, like we’ll get a post-split scene with Craig, Austen, and Shep.

Southern Charm airs Thursdays on Bravo.
