Spurs Predicted to Land $26M Big From Rebuilding NBA Team

4 hours ago 5

One of the surprise teams in the Western Conference this season has been the San Antonio Spurs. Behind an incredible season from Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio has been looking to get themselves back into the postseason.

Currently, the Spurs sit in 12th place within the West standings but a few solid games could change their seeding. The Spurs want to be competitive and that means they could be active during the upcoming NBA trade deadline.

In this new trade idea by Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, San Antonio swings for the fences and lands the perfect compliment to Wembanyama. Here is what the deal could look like between the Spurs and Utah Jazz.

The San Antonio Spurs receive: John Collins and Patty Mills

The Utah Jazz receive: Zach Collins, Tre Jones, a Charlotte Hornets 2025 protected first-rounder, a Chicago Bulls 2025 second-rounder and a Utah Jazz 2026 second-rounder

"John Collins, 27, has resurged this season in Utah...He has the skills to play alongside Wembanyama and back him up off the bench. Collins adds a dimension to the Spurs that current big man Zach Collins (no relation) doesn't provide as a floor-spacer."

If the Spurs are serious about getting back to the postseason, this deal could vastly help them. Collins has been a solid wing player in the league for years now and he has plenty of playoff experience from his time with the Atlanta Hawks.

His ability to space the floor could help the Spurs, giving them much more room to operate on the offensive end of the floor. Additionally, putting him alongside veteran Chris Paul could help unlock some extra parts to the San Antonio offensive attack.

Mills also would make a return to the Spurs, giving them another veteran guard to work with. The deal would mainly be for San Antonio to land Collins but it can never hurt to have another experienced voice in the locker room.

This deal could help the Spurs end their playoff drought and see the once-proud franchise return to the playoffs. It remains to be seen how active they will be but the Spurs owe it to Wembanyama to start being serious about winning more games.
