Strictly Come Dancing Tasha Ghouri's old music video appearance unearthed

Love Island finalist Tasha Ghouri has been going from strength to strength on this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing on BBC One.

She and professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec have consistently impressing the four judges and being awarded high scores.

In 2022, Tasha shot to fame on Love Island and made it all the way to the final with Andrew Le Page, who she is still with. But many will be unaware that before her stint on television, the reality star made an appearance in a music video.

She featured in Sleepwalkers video for 'More Than Words' featuring MNEK and a cast of hard of hearing dancers.

The video begins with a message that reads: "All the dancers in this video are deaf and hard of hearing. Their routine is an interpretation of how they FEEL the music."

Tasha and the rest of the dancers can be seen dancing in sync on a stage and performing a street dance routine.

The 2020 video has over 675,000 views and 6,500 likes as many fans have expressed their happiness over the video raising awareness for the deaf community.

One person wrote: "Dude that's amazing. This an amazing way to also bring some focus to deaf people in a miraculous and wholesome way." Another viewer commented: "Just wonderful. Not only the music the melody the rhythm are amazing but also the INTENTION that's what counts and this video is just so wholesome it deserves 100M views."

Somebody else penned: "This is super unique and I hope more singers start to use this in their tours/videos I love that they’re giving disabled people a platform to show that they are actually NORMAL people and can still do things that many of us are unable to (such as dance incredibly)."

Tasha was born deaf and was initially fitted for hearing aids before being given a single cochlear implant just before her fifth birthday.

She underwent speech therapy and was unable to speak until she was five, having communicated entirely in British Sign Language up until that point.

Tasha has used her platform to raise awareness for the deaf community and acts as an activist for change. This year, she released her first romance novel called Hits Different about a woman who uses her disability as a super power and doesn't let it hold her back in life.
