Strictly mystery as Nadiya and Dan celebrate birthday together - but keep it secret

Strictly Come Dancing star, Nadiya Byckova, celebrated her birthday with her former professional partner on the show, Dan Walker, but neither mentioned the reunion on social media

Strictly Come Dancing's Nadiya Bychkova celebrated her belated birthday with Dan Walker recently - but neither mentioned the reunion on social media.

The pair were put together on the BBC dance show in 2021 and finished fifth after loosing to television presenter AJ Odudu in the dance-off.

Although Nadiya, 35, celebrated her actual birthday in August, she has just marked the occasion again, enjoying a slap-up session of caviar tasting at The Ritz in London.

Taking to Instagram, the owner of the caviar tasting business revealed how Channel 5 star Dan, 47, had been at the bash, sharing a photo of the Channel 5 News star at the hotel, quaffing champagne along with Nadiya and her pals. However, neither of the former Strictly co-stars have shared anything on social media about their reunion.

Nadiya, who looked gorgeous in a silver beaded frock alongside Dan, who was sporting a tux at The Ritz, simply wrote on Instagram: "The most magical evening. Celebrating our belated birthdays with my dear @jemmabolt, celebrating friendship, celebrating life. Last night couldn't be more perfect. It was like a fairytale." The mum-of-one continued: "The most iconic place @theritzlondon. With the most incredible people."

Nadiya, who was voted off Strictly first this year with Tom Dean, turned to her close friend Dan for support after reportedly being snubbed from the Strictly 2023 line-up. The Ukrainian has been a professional dancer on the long-running BBC dance competition since 2017. However, Nadiya was reportedly left on the bench for the 21st season of Strictly, which aired last year.

Last September, the pair looked happy and relaxed as they caught up at a professional golf match in Virginia Water, Surrey. The duo were spectators at the Pro-Am prior to the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Golf Club and were spotted clapping along as players took to the green to show off their sporting skills.

The same week, Dan lashed out at BBC bosses for failing to pair Nadiya with any of the 2023 Strictly contestants. Taking to X, he shared his excitement for the new season, writing: "Looking forward to the new series of Strictly," along with a photo of them on the dancefloor. But he added: “All the pros are great but gutted that @NadiyaBychkova hasn’t got a partner.”

Nadiya was dating fellow Strictly pro, Kai Widdrington, until earlier this year. The pair had been together since 2022, but when asked whether they remain friendly in October, Nadiya told the Mirror: “We work together but we are not friends and that’s OK. One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him it will be amazing because I’m a professional." She declined to comment further on their break up.
