Pete Wicks didn't hold back when he criticised a "few" celebs for being unmemorable in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle. On his Staying Relevant podcast, the TOWIE favourite discussed how his good friend and podcast co-host Sam Thompson is returning after his stint presenting I'm A Celeb Unpacked down under.

Wicks, who recently exited BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, then took a swipe at some of this year's contestants, stating: "Basically, Sam has been interviewing campmates who have been booted out. There's a few people who've gone whose names I don't remember because they didn't do much; f*** 'em."

Pete also mentioned his connection to I'm A Celebrity through his pal and rumoured romantic interest Maura Higgins, who finished sixth in the contest.

Pete was the last celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly before the final

The emotional outcome of Sam's 2023 victory touched audiences, especially since it wasn't Sam's girlfriend Zara but Pete himself awaiting him in Australia. Upon exiting the jungle, a poignant moment unfolded with Sam leaping into Pete's arms.

Their friendship began on Celebs Go Dating in 2019, with both stars hailing from different reality TV backgrounds: The Only Way is Essex for Pete and Made in Chelsea for Sam, as detailed by WalesOnline.

Sam and Pete, who have previously teamed up on The Celebrity Circle in 2021, launched their podcast in 2020, hinting at their efforts to remain in the limelight following their departures from the shows that made them famous. Pete, who was paired with dancer Jowita Przystal on Strictly Come Dancing, was the most recent celebrity to leave the dance show before this weekend's final.

In a touching moment on the programme, Pete dedicated a performance to his late grandmother, with Sam showing support for his pal with an Instagram post: "I think/hope you've seen tonight on Strictly the kind of guy my best mate is.

"That dance meant everything to him. Your nan would be so proud mate and putting yourself out there takes so much guts."
