Suri Cruise has reportedly become a millionaire after the trust fund from her estranged dad Tom Cruise 'kicked in'.

The 18-year-old daughter of Top Gun actor Tom and Katie Holmes turned 18 on April 18 and recently left her mum's house to enjoy college life in Pittsburgh. At the time, it was reported that she was heading to Carnegie Mellon University for a career in fashion or acting.

"I'll be like, 'Let's meet once a week'," Katie had said. Suri has lived alone with Katie for more than a decade, making things much harder. "I'm proud of my daughter," she told the magazine." Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I'm really proud of her and I'm happy."

College life for Suri might be getting easier for her after it was reported that her trust fund from her actor dad 'kicked in'. "It is part of the divorce deal that a trust fund provided by Tom Cruise be shared with daughter Suri Cruise when she turns 18, and it is substantial," a source claimed.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, a source claimed: "She was allowed to access it when she turned 18 in April. The rest of the money will become available to her once she enters her 30s. The trust fund was carefully constructed so that she does not get all the money at once and becomes overwhelmed."

According to the publication, Katie also set up a trust fund for her only child so that Suri can have 'a great quality of life'. The Mirror have reached out to Tom's reps for comment.

Katie shares her daughter Suri with Mission Impossible star Tom. The pair had their only child together in 2006, shortly before their fairytale wedding crumbled. Following his very public divorce from the actress, Tom has been linked to a string of Hollywood beauties including Hayley Atwell and Shakira. However, it seems the actor is yet to find love again.

Back in 2016, it was reported that Katie was banned from publicly dating for five years after signing a strict divorce settlement. However, the actress began dating Django Unchained star Jamie Foxx in secret, with the pair dating for six years before calling it quits. Per reports, Katie was prohibited from "letting her boyfriend near their daughter."

A source told Radar in 2016: "She's allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she's not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri." By agreeing to this, Katie reportedly received £3.6million in child support and £3.8million for herself.
