Kendrick Lamar‘s anticipated Super Bowl 2025 Halftime performance has everyone wondering who he will invite to share the stage.

As K. Dot has been rather mum about any surprise guests, SWV has put it out there that they’d like to share his spotlight. On “heart pt. 6,” one of Kendrick’s most popular tracks from his latest album GNX, he samples the R&B groups’s 1996 hit “Use Your Heart.”

SWV’s LeLee Lyons publicly pitched the idea of performing on Threads, leading many fans to back her request. “Soooo @kendricklamar sampled our song ‘use your heart.’ Wouldn’t it be a treat if we performed together at the Super Bowl? [Fingers] crossed,” she wrote. The post received over 8,300 likes, 560 comments and 483 reposts.

One person commented, “Yes, yes & YES!!! Absolutely!! And anyone that says otherwise is either not musically inclined, a child that doesn’t know good music because they don’t come from an era where ALL of the music was ACTUALLY good music, or simply just a hater.”

Another fan said, “Yes it definitely would, can somebody tag Kendrick because i know I’m not the only one that would love to see this! Kendrick bringing the legends out and performing this.”

On the flip side, some viewed the request as the group trying to benefit off of Kendrick’s success. “No. Just enjoy that sample check and don’t ride his coat tail,” remarked one person as another said, “Give someone an inch, they take a mile lol.”

If not SWV, then the Compton star may just bring out Black Hippy—his supergroup with Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q, and Ab-Soul—since the song speaks about them. “heart pt. 6” reflects on the early days of TDE and why Black Hippy didn’t reach their highest potential.

“I jog my memory, knowin’ Black Hippy didn’t work ’cause of me/Creatively, I moved on with new concepts in reach/Top, remember all them sessions we would strategize/To hit the streets, then come back, record three records?” he raps.

Maybe Kendrick will include both SWV and Black Hippy, either way fans will have to wait until Sunday (Feb. 9), 2025 to find out.
