Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are reportedly eager to add a new furry friend to their family. An exclusive source for Life & Style reveals that the couple's beloved cats have welcomed Travis, leading them to contemplate adopting another kitten.
According to the insider it took Travis Kelce some time to adjust to life with cats.
"It took a while, but the cats love Travis now, and he loves them," the source told Life & Style.
The source added that Travis has become a proud cat dad, and he and Taylor are excited about raising a new kitten together.
The couple is looking to adopt a rescue kitten, emphasizing their dedication to animal welfare.
"They love the idea of saving a cat's life and know there are so many in need," the insider shared.
Taylor and Travis enjoy doting on their cats, often snuggling with them, and Travis has taken it upon himself to set up scratching posts and buy new toys regularly. He is also planning to build a cat patio so their pets can safely enjoy outdoor time.
Taylor's feline family history
Taylor, 35, has a long-standing love for her pets, having adopted her first cat, Meredith Grey, in 2011. Named after the character from Grey's Anatomy, Meredith is known for her shy nature. Taylor reassured fans in 2021 that the Scottish Fold was doing fine, saying, "The truth is, Meredith just hates having her picture taken."
In 2014, Taylor adopted a second Scottish Fold, Olivia Benson, after Mariska Hargitay's character from Law & Order: SVU. Olivia is more outgoing and has made several public appearances, including a recent Instagram post featuring her before Taylor's concert in Miami on October 18, where Taylor wrote, "Back in the office..."
The adoption of Taylor's third cat, Benjamin Button, a Ragdoll, was unplanned. After meeting him on the set of her "ME!" music video in 2019, Taylor was smitten.
"He was just a cute kitten who didn't have a home... He looked at me like, 'You're my mom, and we're going to live together.' I fell in love," she explained.
Since starting their relationship in August 2023, Taylor and Travis, 35, have become deeply integrated into each other's lives. Travis's friends often tease him about his devotion to the cats, but he embraces his role as a cat dad.
"Taylor treats them like her kids, and now he's the same way. They're both very excited about adding another one to the family," the insider noted.
As Taylor and Travis explore the joys of pet parenthood, their bond continues to strengthen, reflecting their shared commitment to their furry family.
