The incident occurred as the eldest Kelce brother, who was the Philadelphia Eagles centre for 13 years, was walking through a crowd at a Penn State vs Ohio State College Football match at Pennsylvania State University.
Fans were filming Kelce and calling out to him in a bid to get his attention when the slur was made, prompting Kelce to turn and grab the phone.
“Who’s the f***** now?” he responded, hurling the device at the floor before bending to the ground to collect it and storming off.
Footage of the moment quickly went viral on social media.
Swift and Kelce were reportedly “shocked” by the footage, according to a source close to the couple.
“Taylor and Travis were both really shocked by this considering Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world,” they told Daily Mail.
“It really became clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means the world to him.”
“The use of the word f***** is not OK with him nor anyone. This fan crossed the line.
“Jason will never stand for anyone insulting his family and he views Taylor as family now.”
Kelce has yet to publicly address the incident.
