Matt Healy has earned the ire of music fans after threatening to "slap" Azealia Banks.
Taylor Swift's ex and the "212" rapper got into an argument on X, formerly Twitter, that led to Healy's violent threat.
Their beef began when Banks, who is no stranger to conflict on social media, commented on a photo of Charli XCX and wrote that the "Apple" singer "used to be sooo pretty."
But Healy quickly jumped to Charli XCX's defense and replied to Banks' post.
"All the women you attack seem to be culturally relevant, attractive, divisive and NICE people. I think this makes you jealous cos you're so talented but everything else about you is a failure. Just rap bro," wrote The 1975 frontman.
They then shot some barbs backwards and forwards until Banks described Healy's fiancé, Gabbriette Bechtel, as "Frankenstein looking."
Healy then warned Banks "I am not the one," after she described him as a "homosexual heroin addict."
"Talk to me like that I'm not going to side eye you at an awards do "I'll f****** slap you so hard I'll get a Guinness world record for the highest a rat some bitch calls a wig has ever flown," Healy wrote.
The singer quickly backtracked on his comments but the damage was done.
"Nah I can't be saying I'm gonna hit a girl that's insane I'm sorry. You just can't keep being so mean about my mates and my mrs it's really hurtful gets me well defensive," Healy wrote and then said the pair "should sort this out on the remix."
Despite his apology, people were unhappy with him threatening to slap Banks.
"they are both trash humans but matty healy threatening to slap a black woman here just further proves how trash he is," wrote @forever_dusk in a post that has been viewed 28,000 times.

Swift and Healy split in 2023 after a brief fling and before she got into a high-profile relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who went public with their romance in September of that year.
Healy and Bechtel revealed their engagement in June this year.
"Marrying the 1975 is very brat @trumanblack," Bechtel—who has been linked to Healy since September 2023—wrote in green font over the photo over her hand, which featured her onyx engagement ring, set in a halo of diamonds.
