While a timeline has yet to surface, TCL has quietly confirmed which Android devices it will update to Android 15 through its website.
TCL isn’t a brand well known for its update policies or software support, but like everyone else, the brand is working behind the scenes on its Android 15 update. This week, a list of devices set to get that update has been spotted.
The folks over at YTechB noticed on TCL’s website that each Android device has upcoming Android versions alongside its current version. As such, a list of devices TCL will update to Android 15 can be determined, with 10 devices listed.
- TCL 50 5G (up to Android 16)
- TCL 50 NXTPAPER 5G (up to Android 16)
- TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G (up to Android 16)
- TCL 50 SE
- TCL 50 XL 5G
- TCL 505
- TCL Tab 8 Gen 2 and LTE
- TCL Tab 10 NXTPAPER 5G
- TCL Tab 11 Gen 2 and LTE
- TCL Tab 11 FE
This is similar to how Motorola confirmed an initial list of devices it will update to Android 15. But, as in that case, there’s no indication from TCL as to when we can expect these updates.
It’s also worth noting that most of these devices have been released within the past year or so. It’s unclear what TCL’s plans are regarding any older devices. It’s also odd that some devices are missing, such as the TCL NXTPAPER 14 tablet that was announced at the start of 2024. Surely that tablet will be getting the update at some point, so this list definitely isn’t conclusive – at least we sure hope not.
