Teedra Moses recently clapped back at fans who criticized her continued support of R. Kelly, despite the incarcerated crooner’s various convictions on child sex crimes.

Late last month (Dec. 29), a user on X shamed Moses for comments she made during an appearance on fellow R&B singers Tank and J. Valentine’s R&B Money Podcast the day prior (Dec. 28).

At one point during the episode, Moses picked R. Kelly’s 2000 release, “The Greatest Sex,” as one of the five best R&B songs of all time, citing it’s realism, production, and songwriting.

“You can close your eyes and see everything he’s saying,” the “Be Your Girl” songstress said while praising the track, which is widely regarded as one of the signature songs in the controversial singer’s discography.

She would later add that the Chicago native is “One of the greatest songwriters to ever live,” pointing to his versatility and being able to create hits suitable for any occasion. “He spans all the fields.”

Following the episode’s release, the reaction from the public was divided regarding Moses’ comments, with some disavowing their fandom and support, while others defended her mention of Kelly.

“I sincerely would like to say f**k her,” one user on X wrote. “How many times we have to REPEAT that Robert Kelly was writing songs about having sex with TEENAGERS & the reason why its so visual is bc its teaching kids how to f**k.”

A few days later, on Wednesday (Jan. 1), Moses would respond to the post with one of her own, in which she threatened to physically assault the online critic.

“F**k u u ugly bi**h and I ain’t blocking you cuz I got time in the new yr to bless u with these words!!!” the 48-year-old wrote. “You don’t know me! But those that do know what I’m about. Go play with ya support dog bi**h don’t play with me! Coming on this app w dat bullsh*t. I will slap piss from u!!”

Another X user would respond to Moses’ retort, grouping her with other Kelly supporters, many of whom are in their 40s or above.

“One thing about you old black bi**hes is yall gone ride for that nasty predator,” the user wrote. Teedra would issue another response, albeit less menacing, accusing the commenter of being “uninformed” and “dumb.”

Teedra’s clap back kicks off her new year on a fiery note, as she enjoyed a resurgence in buzz and profile in 2024, as the New Orleans native celebrated the 20th anniversary of her acclaimed debut album Complex Simplicity.
