Former tennis star Anna Kournikova has been snapped for the first time in years, sporting a new injury.
Anna, 43, was a tennis legend who was also a model and television personality with Grand Slam titles to her name and reached a career-high at number eight worldwide.
The star retired in 2003 at the age of 21 after a series of injuries including a herniated disk and chronic back pain.
Since retiring, she has remained out of the spotlight with her partner Enrique Iglesias and hasn’t been snapped in public for the last two years.
The former tennis player was seen in a wheelchair while with her daughters aged 7 and 4 on a family shopping trip in Bal Harbour, Florida.
The star wore an all-black outfit and a large orthopaedic boot on her foot supporting her right leg.
In one image, Anna could be seen with a pink cast on her pinky finger, suggesting she’d injured more than just her foot.
The star first became involved in 2001 and has three children together, a son named Nicholas and a daughter, Lucy, born in 2017 who are fraternal twins. They also have another daughter, Mary who was born in 2020.
Enrique and Anna have made a conscious effort to keep their children out of the spotlight, remaining tight-lipped over the years on the ins and outs of family life.
However, they have infrequently shared snaps of their children and family life on social media.
Enrique and Anna have never married, but in 2012 the singer referred to her as his wife. He later clarified in an interview with Parade magazine: ‘It was just meant to be sweet in the moment. I honestly didn’t mean to confuse people. I thought it’d be easier for the audience to understand than if I said “my girl.”
‘I’ve never really thought marriage would make a difference. Maybe it’s because I come from divorced parents, but I don’t think you love someone more because of a piece of paper.
‘And nowadays, it’s not taboo to have kids and not be married. What makes a difference is that you’re a good parent, period.’
