No firm plans are set and no tour offer has been extended. But a royal visit to the US next year could coincide with events marking the 250th anniversary of the signing of America’s declaration of independence. President Trump has already indicated that he plans to invite world leaders and other dignitaries to Independence Day celebrations he promises will be “the best of all time.”

Both King Charles and Prince William’s wife Katherine have both been battling cancer. Princess Katherine recently announced that she is in remission after a year of treatment.

But the King’s cancer treatment continues, now going into its second year. Nevertheless, King Charles is traveling to Poland to mark the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz this month. He also plans to travel to Italy to meet with the Pope in the coming months. The King is reportedly determined to maintain a full calendar of royal duties despite his health battle. Neither King Charles nor Princess Katherine have made clear what specific type of cancer either is battling.
