The Chase fans 'devastated' as player close to tears after brutal record-breaking loss

3 weeks ago 4

The Chase host Bradley Walsh introduced four new contestants who were up against Jenny Ryan in hopes of winning a massive cash prize.

The ITV quiz show returned on Thursday night with Charlotte, Nilpa, Mike and Ethan testing their knowledge.

Unfortunately for Mike, despite being the third contestant to face The Vixen, he was knocked out of the competition. This was a hard hit for Charlotte and Nilpa, who had safely made it back for the final Chase, the Express reports.

The last contestant to face Jenny was Ethan. Encouraged by his two teammates to go big, the 22-year-old took their advice and opted to play for £88,000, which he confidently brought back to the team, raising their total to a staggering £100,000.

The Chase

The trio correctly answered 17 questions in the final chase, but in a heartbreaking twist, they were caught by The Vixen with just five seconds left, leaving contestant Charlotte nearly in tears. Viewers expressed their disappointment on X, formerly known as Twitter, calling it a "horrible" final.

One said: "Charlotte looked like she was gonna cry, unlucky #TheChase." Another wrote: "If you was rich, I'd ring up and give Charlotte the money, she looks gutted #thechase."

A third commented: "Charlotte looks like she is going to cry." A fourth added: "That was just horrible. Those players deserved that 100k. They were good. Gutted for them #thechase."
