Paul Sinha issues update on health after Parkinson's diagnosis

Paul Sinha has given fans a heart-breaking update after appearing on Taskmaster. The star, known for being on the ITV quiz show The Chase, has been battling Parkinson's disease since May 2019.

Taking to X, the 54 year old clapped back at online trolls who left nasty comments. He wrote: "Even in full health i would have been ill equipped for Taskmaster.

"But the amount of hate i still get that makes no concession for poor health can be bewildering. Such is life, I guess. An honest depiction of the whole ecperience in the memoir." [sic]

Many of his 15.9K followers flocked to the comments section to react to his post. One person replied: "I totally don't get it that you got hate for Taskmaster. It's an entertainment show and you were very funny in that series and I loved the dressing gown."

A second person chimed in: "I’ve recently finished watching it again, and you were brilliant entertainment, which is what it’s about."

A third also typed: "I thought you were great value on Taskmaster. Some people just aren't good at stuff like that and have talents better suited to other things."

A fourth also penned: "I do not get why people get such hate, it must be awful I honestly enjoyed every contestant on Taskmaster and you were so brilliant and funny. It just is sometimes is sad that you did have not exactly pleaseant experience connected to it. And I am sorry you have to experience it."

Paul explained in an emotional post in 2019 that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He said at the time: “On the evening of Thursday May 30th, an experienced consultant neurologist calmly informed me that I had Parkinson’s disease.

The quiz expert, who joined The Chase in 2011, also stated he has “a treatment plan in place” and feels “far more prepared for the new challenges ahead.”

Despite his diagnosis, Paul has continued to work on various television programmes and also tied the knot with his long-term partner Oliver in December 2019.

In 2021, he fronted his own ITV show, Paul Sinha's TV Showdown, which saw celebrities go head to head on answering as many questions as they could about TV knowledge.
