In the world of Bachelor Nation franchises, there is one golden rule lead’s most follow — never reveal your winner. However, that never stops fans from piecing things together and The Golden Bachelorette lead Joan Vassos is the latest lead to say a little bit too much while her season is still underway.

We know that Joan filmed her final rose ceremony in late July in Tahiti but we’re still a couple of weeks away from actually seeing it play out on screen. So, while Joan has done her very best not to reveal her winner — even though some sources announced The Golden Bachelorette winner back in September — she has revealed enough for fans to put things together for themselves.

In an Oct. 23 appearance on The Viall Files podcast, Joan spoke in depth about two specific contestants who just so happen to be her final two — Guy Gansert and Chock Chapple. At the time the episode aired, Joan was still dating two other contestants — Jordan Heller and Pascal Igbui. So, Joan’s statements weren’t too revealing.

However, now that we’ve seen Joan say goodbye to Jordan after his hometown date and to Pascal after he self-eliminated in the Fantasy Suites episode, we’re revisiting Joan’s revealing comments.

When asked about the controversy surrounding a recently-unearthed protective order against Guy that his ex-wife filed for back in 2021, Joan spoke only in the past tense, strongly suggesting that she was no longer dating the Nevada-native.

“I would have never had any indication that there was any kind of past that he had. I had no idea what the interactions with his ex-wife were at that time,” Joan said. “He was so kind to me and he was so open and he was so vulnerable. He cried. He talked about, you know, finally feeling happy for the first time in so many years.”

“You know, maybe he made a mistake,” she added. “I don’t know. I don’t know anything about [it] other than what you guys know.”

So, knowing what we know now, that leaves only one potential match for Joan — Chock Chapple. And based on what Joan had to say about him, it seems she still has a connection.

“Immediately, I loved what he did. The Chock-o-Noodle soup was hilarious,” she said of their first meeting, referencing Chock’s chicken noodle soup that he brought for her. “But the reason that was such a good thing to do is because I realized he went and figured out who I was and what was important to me.”

“He knew the names of all four of my kids,” Joan recalled. “Some people might call that creepy. Some people, like me, thought ‘Wow he really is interested.'”

While we don’t know for sure, things certainly seem promising for Chock and Joan’s love story!

Chock also seems totally smitten with Joan in what we have seen on the show so far, especially after the Fantasy Suites episode.

“I don’t want to be cocky, but I felt that we were the right couple from Day 1,” a very confident Chock said in an Oct. 29 episode of the show. “I was awestruck when I stepped out of the limo… I’ve grown to appreciate you and to really love you more.”

After spending the night together, Chock wrote in his journal about his “beautiful night” with Joan. “What did we do? That’s between Joan and myself. If she wants to talk about it, she can, but, my lips are sealed,” Chock said, although we know about Joan’s rule for Fantasy Suites so we’re guessing there was no physical intimacy. “And that’s the beauty of the Fantasy Suites, is just between two adults, but we had a great time. It was everything I expected and more.”
