From Taylor Swift's favourite kebab shop to the Clapham nightclub Margot Robbie used to be a regular at while living in the UK, London is home to plenty of popular celebrity haunts.

A Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in Mayfair is another celeb-friendly venue, with Ed Sheeran reported to be among the regulars. Gymkhana is located on Albermarle Street, with its website explaining that it is inspired by the "elite clubs of India where members of high society socialise, eat, drink and play sport".

The restaurant is set across two separate floors, each of which have their own distinctive look. The ground floor features tones of "jade green and polished dark timber" while the lower ground floor references north Indian architecture with "a vivid colour palette of peach and kashmiri chilli red".

Ed Sheeran isn't the only famous face who has dined at Gymkhana. Nara and Lucky Blue Smith visited the restaurant while in London for Fashion Week earlier this year.

Nara, who is known for sharing videos in which she makes everything from cereal to sun cream "from scratch" on TikTok, posted about the experience on her socials. The couple made the most of Gymkhana's private dining facilities, starting their meal with "fun drinks", a mango ginger ale for Nara and a pomegranate and black salt mocktail for Lucky.

They then ate Panipuri, a popular Indian street food made up of puffed and fried shells and often filled with potato, onion and chickpeas. The American influencer described Panipuri as "one of her favourite things," adding that they tasted "absolutely stunning".

They also treated themselves to chicken tikka and aloo gobi for starter, before sharing lentil dahl, pork cheek vindaloo, wild muntjac biryani, garlic naan and a venison-stuffed naan bread topped with pomegranate.

Nara said all of the food was "so insanely good and the meat was so tender".

It's not just celebrities who visit Gymkhana, however. The restaurant has an average rating of four stars from more than 1,800 reviews on Tripadvisor, with one guest writing: "Best Indian Food in London!!! We came here for lunch as I have two teens ages 13 & 15 and there is an age limit for dinner.

"Table was ready when we arrived. Food and service was first class and the waiter was very helpful explaining the menu. Samosa's, butter chicken and Naan bread are a must.

Another said: "This is the most amazing Indian restaurant I've experienced. It's a special place with a great staff that is helpful and will guide you through the menu. You can do a set tasting or go a la carte. Whatever you do DO NOT miss the Chicken Butter Masala!"

Not everyone agrees, however, with OpulentCritiques writing: "It is seriously over rated, it is quite expensive for what it is and quite noisy, the food is nothing special I would say average."
