'The View' Host Blasts Snoop Dogg Over Trump Inauguration Event

Snoop Dogg performed at a pre-inauguration event for President Donald Trump — and one co-host of The View is taking him to task for it.

On the Tuesday, January 21 episode of the talk show — the morning after Trump's inauguration as the 47th President of the United States — Anna Navarro did not mince words while criticizing the "Gin and Juice" rapper's decision to perform at the historic event. (Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, took the stage at a pre-inauguration ball over the weekend.)

Navarro, who is a Republican political strategist — but has been vocal for her dislike of Trump — specifically name-dropped Snoop Dogg after co-host Sunny Hostin discussed the Black artists who performed at inauguration events. (The decision for Black stars like Snoop, Nelly, and Village People singer Victor Willis to perform at Trump's inauguration have confused and been criticized by those who believe the POTUS' policies have targeted minorities.)

Hostin boldly claimed that Snoop Dogg, who previously opposed the president, was acting like a "trained seal."

"If you opposed and stood up against Trump in 2017, but you were there now. If you spoke up against Trump Jan. 7, 2021, but you were there now applauding him like a trained seal — Donald Trump has not changed, you've changed," she alleged.

Tuesday's episode of The View was rife with discussion of the inauguration — though one vocal co-host was notably absent.

Whoopi Goldberg, who has long been candid about her opposition of Trump, was missing from Tuesday's episode — though her absence was due to a "work commitment" in Paris, Joy Behar shared on Tuesday. (The EGOT winner, 69, previously revealed that she was headed to Paris for a fashion event.)
