The medic who previously appeared on the ITV flagship show welcomed in the New Year with his nearest and dearest and it appears he was keen to show off his new romance. The doctor was seen kissing his new boyfriend as they celebrated the recent festivities over the holiday period.

Dr Ranj's new partner, James Colebrook, describes himself as a presenter, actor, fitness expert and gamer on his social media profile. Taking to Instagram, Dr Ranj said he was "hard launching" his new romance as he prepared to start the year as he means to go on.

"I think this is what the kids call a 'hard launch'," he said, adding: "Sometime the universe gives you what you NEED, rather than what you WANT. Starting 2025 the way it was meant to be. Happy new year love!"

He added: "Earned myself five lovely stitches. All sorted though! Thank you for the messages of concern." Earlier this year, Dr Ranj made an exciting career announcement, revealing that his next role is an "absolute dream come true". He confirmed he was set to take to the stage in the musical 'and Juliet' as part of its upcoming UK and Ireland tour, where he will play the role of Lance. "I am absolutely overjoyed to be making my musical theatre debut in and Juliet, a show I've been a fan of since it first opened," he said as he announced the fantastic news.

"I know it's a bit of a change from my usual work but not many people will know how hard I've been working behind the scenes to make this happen and it's an absolute dream come true. I can't wait to work with the incredible Luke Sheppard [Director] and the entire creative team and have the time of my life this year, showing the UK what I'm made of alongside an exceptionally talented and diverse cast. Bring it on."
