Tiger King star Joe Exotic has written a letter to Donald Trump from his prison cell requesting to be freed. The 61-year-old former zookeeper was jailed in 2019 after he was found guilty of two counts of murder for hire against rival Carole Baskin.
Joe is currently set to be released in 2036 but hopes to taste freedom earlier through an appeal for a retrial based on newly discovered evidence. The former animal park owner shot to global superstardom for his wild and erratic antics in the Tiger King Netflix documentary series that first aired at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a desperate plea to escape Forth Worth prison in Texas, Exotic asked Donald Trump for a pardon in a letter where he also outlined being "scared as hell" of Kamala Harris winning the election.
The disgraced zookeeper wrote: "A lot of people went to bat for you in 2021 who have been living in hell ever since then.
"Everyone hopes you keep the promises you made during your campaign, which include pardoning everyone sooner than later in January 2025.
"Some of those very people have been stuck in solitary confinement, forced to live like rats, have killed themselves in prison, or have died.
"Some, like myself, have fought like hell to hang on, hoping for you to win this election."
If released, Joe wants to take on a role in Trump's cabinet as the new Federal Fish and Wildlife Director.
The TV star has been busy behind bars as he revealed last month that he was engaged to new lover Jorge Marquez from Mexico.
Tiger King's new love follows a split with former fiance Seth Posey a year ago.
In a post on X celebrating his new fiance, Joe wrote: “Meet Jorge Marquez he is 33. He is so amazing and is from Mexico.
“Now, the quest of getting married in prison and getting him asylum or we be leaving America when we both get out. Either way, I wish I would have met him long ago.”
