Married at First Sight: Tasha discusses her feelings for Paul

A Married at First Sight couple has unexpectedly announced their split just one year after being matched on the show.

Tasha Jay took to Instagram earlier today to reveal that she and Paul Liba, whom she married on MAFS last year, are no longer together.

The 26-year-old's statement read: "It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing Paul and I have decided to part ways. There isn't any major reason, we have just come to terms with the fact that we are not right for each other.

"Paul is the loveliest guy I've ever met and I'm grateful for the time we've shared together and I'm glad that we can remain friends. I'm utterly heartbroken that I'm having to write this post, but it is best for both of us."

She concluded: "Thank you to everyone who has supported us as a couple. I hope you can now support us on our individual journeys."

Paul shared the same statement on his own social media. The 2023 series featured couples such as Ella Morgan and Nathanial Valentino, Jay Howard and Luke Worley, and Shona Manderson and Brad Skelly.

Tasha and Paul were the last couple remaining, meaning no couples from that series are still married to their partners.

On the red carpet at the BAFTA in May, Tasha said, "Stronger than ever. We’re the only couple left. Reigning champions I’d say."

The couple also expressed their desire to have a legal marriage ceremony, as the one on the show was not legally binding.

Tasha said: "The chemistry’s still there. I’m waiting on a real ring though, just saying. We want a big wedding, big diamond. That’s what I need."

Earlier this year it had been claimed that their relationship was in trouble after they had not spent Valentine's Day together. The publication claimed the pair were "on the rocks" and also said: "Out of all the MAFS UK couples still together Tasha and Paul remain the most elusive as they posted absolutely nothing. It’s giving on the rocks x." But the reality TV star, who showed her fiery side while on the show, wasted no time in setting the record straight.

Taking to social media she wrote: "It’s giving we live in two different cities and we’re celebrating on the weekend thank you very much." She added: "And we posted on our stories." The couple first got together on the E4 show and bonded immediately despite the fact they had never seen each other before tying the knot.

The pair have defended their relationshiip on several occasions post-show and have denied past split allegations. Although the couple have split, they still follow each other on Instagram.

The couple has defended their relationship several times after the show and denied previous split rumours. Although they have now separated, they still follow each other on Instagram.
