She’s spreading body positivity, “One Day at a Time.”
Valerie Bertinelli celebrated her figure at the age of 64 by posting a mirror selfie of herself dressed in nothing but a bra and underwear to her Instagram Monday.
“At some point I will talk about the madness my body has been through this year,” she captioned the photo.
She continued, “But right now every lump bump wrinkle and saggy part of me just feels acceptance and simple appreciation to be standing in front of a mirror in a hotel bathroom in downtown Manhattan ready to color my roots late on a Monday night.”
The actress flaunted her tummy by rocking black-and-white underwear and a simple black underwire bra.
She also accessorized with what appeared to be a silver Apple watch and wore her brunette hair down in voluminous waves.
The Food Network star was holding a box of hair dye in one hand while she snapped the phone with her iPhone.
The hotel bathroom in which she captured the reflective moment featured lavish marble walls, a standup shower, and a cream-colored sink basin cluttered with toiletries.
Bertinelli’s friends flooded the comments section with sweet messages of support.
“You look great! ❤️,” Kristin Chenoweth commented on the post.
“I love you so much!” Jennifer Love Hewitt cheered.
“beautiful 🔥🔥🔥,” Rosie O’Donnell wrote.
The two-time Golden Globe winner is known for being vulnerable with her 1.6 million Instagram followers.
In February, Bertinelli shared that she stopped weighing herself after she was deemed “overweight” at 150 pounds.
“2014 #tbt This is a 150lb body on a 5’4 frame,” she captioned a throwback picture of herself in a purple bikini lying in an infinity pool at the time.“I don’t weigh myself anymore because this is considered overweight by who’s [sic] standards I don’t know. It’s stupid and I believed them for far too long.”
She added, “I now, finally, know that I am a kind, considerate, funny, thoughtful woman. So please remember, who you are and what your character is, should never be overshadowed by what size you are or how much you weigh.”
A month prior, she slammed her critics by posting a makeup-free video on social media.
“I am filming with no filter today because some of you all get really bent out of shape when I choose to use a filter,” the “Kids Baking Championship” host said. “This is me with no makeup and this is no filter.”
She also bashed one internet user for suggesting that she wore a wig and showed her graying roots to the camera.
“Can you get me a wig without flipping gray roots please, because I’m tired of getting my roots done every two weeks,” she joked.
The TV star is embracing herself after she and her boyfriend of 10 months, Mike Goodnough, broke up last month.
Bertinelli was previously married to Tom Vitale from 2011 to 2022 and Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007 and they share two kids: Wolfgang Van Halen, 33, and Andraia Van Halen.
