A popular TikTok star model has been shot dead outside a gym in a reported targeted attack.
Yesterday, Fedra Oded Gaxiola Orozco, 24, was shot in broad daylight while sitting in her black Mercedes Benz. The social media star was parked outside of Hardcore Fitness Gym in the López Lucio neighbourhood of Tijuana, Mexico, when she was tragically killed, reports the Mirror.
The gunman ran and fled the scene after he targeted her car at 8.35am, shooting through the car window several times. The emergency services were quickly called by onlookers and passerbys, however, upon their arrival, the TikTok star could sadly not be saved after being shot several times.
The killer took off in a Chevrolet HHR vehicle, witnesses told police. A manhunt is underway after they also claimed that there was more than one person involved in the heinous crime. However, homicide unit prosecutor Miguel Ángel Gaxiola Rodríguez, has said the investigation points to a suspect who acted alone and targeted the woman. So far there have been no detainees, and the investigation is ongoing.
The TikTok star has over 200,000 followers on Instagram and TikTok and often collaborated with sportswear and aesthetic clothing brands. Her death comes just months after another influencer and TikTok star was shot and killed alongside her boyfriend outside of a gym in Mexico.
TikToker Vielka Pulido was seen, along with her lover, getting out of a Hyundai car when an assailant in a BMW suddenly pulled up and unloaded a stream of bullets at the pair, prompting people nearby to run for cover. Vielka and the man, named locally as 41-year-old Joel Abraham Chavez, were killed. Horror CCTV footage shows the moment the influencer was assassinated along with her boyfriend outside the gym.
A total of 26 bullets were fired in the horrific drive-by shooting in the Santa Cruz Buenavista neighborhood of Puebla, Mexico’s fourth-largest city, according to reports.
Further reports indicate Joel may have been the intended target and police are investigating that possibility. Vielka's death was described as “collateral,” by officials. The Attorney General's Office reported the investigation revealed the attack was directed at Joel.
“We are investigating this incident as a priority to try to resolve it as soon as possible and bring those responsible to justice,” a spokesman for state prosecutors in Puebla said.
