Timothée Chalamet hip thrusts and humps the floor in bizarre celebratory livestream

Timothée Chalamet might have clocked in a late contender for the strangest celebrity moment of the year after his celebratory livestream.

The Dune star hopped on Instagram and treated his 19.3million followers to a hip-thrusting, guitar-smashing, confetti-filled Bob Dylan tribute.

Timothée is starring as Bob, 83, in biopic A Complete Unknown which is set to be released in the US on Christmas Day.

Brits will have to wait until January 17 to watch in cinemas but it seems the leading man is already celebrating the film’s release and critical success.

The bizarre video opened with Timothée, 28, sitting alone in a chair as clips of the Mr Tambourine Man legend played on a huge screen behind him.

After a moment, the Little Women star smashes a guitar without a word as Blind Willie McTell booms in the background.

Timothée wasn’t done there though as the music changed into Black Eyed Pea’s I Gotta Feeling and he began dancing, shirtless.

His enthusiastic moves included crawling on the floor, hip thrusting, and shooting a confetti cannon from his crotch.

Messages of congratulations flashed on the huge screen as the actor danced around the empty sound stage.

‘You did it,’ read the screen. ‘Well done Timmy. Good luck with your future. Impressive – to say the least.

‘We are so proud of you. We’ll be seeing your other films.’

At one point, a woman — thought to be his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner — walked into the frame and hugged him before leaving again.

The Kardashian star, who he has been dating since early 2023, was silhouetted and didn’t utter a word as she embraced her beau.

Timothée’s chaotic celebration also included the Homer Simpson floor spin (recently repeated by Raygun at the Olympics) as he lay in scattered gold confetti.

He also soaked his hair in a sink before heading outside the sound stage, still shirtless, into the rainy loading dock and train track.

Fans didn’t know how to interpret this bizarre livestream, taking to X to share how the Oscar-nominated actor ‘fascinates’ them.

‘Last Timothée Chalamet Insta Live I had to spend 40 minutes watching him walk silently through a museum. this one he had a psychotic episode soundtracked to the Black Eyed Peas, he fascinates me endlessly,’ wrote @wednesdaysadums.

‘Did I just watch Timothée Chalamet have a psychotic episode on Instagram live,’ asked @elordilvr.

@Itsnarimann shared: ‘The youngest best actor Oscar nominee in over 80 years btw 😭😭’

Fan account Chxlamet Cinema added: ‘Timothée Chalamet is the funniest person to exist 😭.’

Of course, famed fan account Club Chalamet had some thoughts to share and wrote: ‘This is so bold, creative, and powerful. Timothée took a gamble with A Complete Unknown and it’s paying off!’

A Complete Unknown is in cinemas in the UK on January 17, 2025.
