If you are looking for help with Tuesday's Wordle, you have come to the right place, as Newsweek is here to assist you.
The popular word game is celebrating its third anniversary this month, and its popularity shows no sign of slowing down.
Josh Wardle, a Welsh-born software engineer based in New York City, perfected Wordle during the COVID-19 lockdowns before releasing it to the public in October 2021—and it quickly went viral in a matter of weeks.
Following its public debut, the puzzle exploded from 90 users on November 1, 2021, to 300,000 on January 2, 2022. The New York Times purchased it for an undisclosed seven-figure sum soon after, and it became the publication's most popular game.
The rules of Wordle are easy enough to understand. Players are tasked with guessing a mystery five-letter word—and must do so in six attempts or fewer. They are helped along with a color-coded tile system: green means they have got the letter correct; yellow shows the letter appears in the word but is in the wrong spot; and, finally, a gray tile indicates that the letter does not appear in the word at all.
Linguistics expert and Babbel Live teacher, Noël Wolf, said that one surefire way to be a Wordle master was to "familiarize yourself with more words."
"Expanding your vocabulary for Wordle is particularly useful because the game often includes words that aren't used in everyday conversation," Wolf told Newsweek.
"Aside from reading widely to expose yourself to less common words, playing other fun word games like Scrabble, word searches and crossword puzzles can be a great way to widen your vocabulary."
While you can read more to learn a wider range of words, Wolf added that you should be very mindful with your guesses as you progress through the daily game.
The answer to Tuesday's puzzle will be revealed at the end of this article, so scroll down with caution if you want to work it out for yourself.
