Tom Holland Shares The 1 Reason He Won't Walk The Red Carpet At Zendaya's Premieres

2 days ago 8

Tom Holland, our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, reveals the touching reason he doesn’t swing into action at red carpet premieres for his girlfriend Zendaya.

The couple, who have officially been together since 2021, have a long history of working together, starting with their time in the Spider-Man franchise, dating back to 2017. In an interview with Men’s Health published Thursday, Holland opened up about why he chooses not to walk the red carpet with Zendaya while attending her premieres.

“Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us,” the actor said.

Their last carpet appearance together was for the 2021 film “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”

During the interview, Holland also spoke candidly about the overwhelming nature of fame, offering his decision to stay out of the spotlight as a valid reason for avoiding certain events — except, of course, Zendaya’s premieres. He still attends those, though he’s content to remain a behind-the-scenes supporter.

In an interview with Vogue, Zendaya shared the one reason she’s most proud of Holland. Following the release of their 2017 film in the Spider-Man franchise, Zendaya recalled how she saw Holland’s life change before her eyes, and how he navigated being a well-known actor.

“We were both very, very young, but my career was already kind of going, and his changed overnight,” Zendaya said. “One day you’re a kid and you’re at the pub with your friends, and then the next day you’re Spider-Man.”
