The most popular country for Brits to relocate to has been unveiled - and it's not sunny Spain.
According to data from 1st Move International, the United States has taken the top spot as the favourite destination for British expats. The firm stated: "The US is a diverse place full of opportunity, suitable for any stage of life, whether you're still in education, looking to start a business, or simply craving your next adventure."
They added that the lack of a language barrier for UK residents makes the transition more manageable.
Australia came in second, with 1st Move International noting: "Similar to the US, the lack of a language barrier for UK residents makes Australia an incredibly attractive opportunity."
They also highlighted the appealing weather, saying: "Combined with the weather, a stark contrast to the UK, travelling across the world to find your new home is irresistible."
Canada and New Zealand rounded out the top five, followed by Cyprus, South Africa, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and finally the Cayman Islands.
The research revealed that Canada was the top choice for residents of 74 countries, including India, Nigeria and South Africa, who were searching online for information on how to move there.
Dubai took third place, with its rising popularity among Brits seeking a new home. Ist Move said: "One of the most popular places in the UAE to relocate to is Dubai, its most populous country. Dubai has become a popular tourist destination in recent years.
"However, it offers expats several benefits. It's sunny, modern, and safe, making it suitable for families. Dubai also has no income tax, making your take-home income considerably higher."
