The non-profit law firm assisting Tory Lanez now has a new client. Unite The People confirmed that it would represent Milagro Gramz, née Milagro Elizabeth Cooper, as she is sued by Megan Thee Stallion. According to Rolling Stone, the group is also representing Lanez, legal name Daystar Peterson, as he appeals his conviction for shooting the Houston rapper.
“Milagro Elizabeth Cooper has been served a lawsuit making a lot of false claims against her professional conduct in an attempt to stop her from reporting on the Daystar Peterson case,” shared the organization in a statement to RS’s Mankaprr Conteh. “Unite the People Inc. was founded and exists to fight on behalf of the disadvantaged, the small, and the powerless against these Goliath organizations, corporations, or celebrities that want to push around and bully the Davids of this world.”
On Wednesday (Oct. 30), the Grammy-winning rapper, legal name Megan Pete, filed a lawsuit against Cooper accusing the blogger of being a “paid surrogate” of Peterson. The filing requests a jury trial, with the 29-year-old seeking compensatory, punitive, and statutory damages. Cooper is accused of sharing false information about Megan Thee Stallion and the criminal case against Peterson as recently as earlier this week when she alleged the gun from the shooting was missing from police custody.
“It’s time to hold bloggers accountable for years of harassment, cyberbullying and the publication of misinformation about my personal and professional life,” asserts the 29-year-old in a statement shared with VIBE.
“I’ve endured countless attacks on my character based on false narratives from social media bloggers misrepresenting themselves as journalists. It’s unacceptable behavior and these individuals need to understand there will be repercussions for recklessly posting lies and defamatory falsehoods.”
