A pair of tourists in Norway decided to hike up to one of the country's most scenic viewpoints, only to find a huge queue for the famous photo opportunity at the top.

TikTok user @andybtran shared a video of the end of their hike, showing the huge crowd of people all waiting to take a photo at the viewpoint, with the stunning lake backdrop behind them on a clear sunny day.

"When you hike 10km and you gotta wait an hour for a photo," the TikTok user wrote in the text overlay of the viral clip, which has received over half a million views since it was first posted on November 6.

"Unbeatable views though," he wrote in the caption of the video. In the 11-second clip, we see other hikers form a queue leading up to a ledge with the views of the mountains and lake in the background.

The video was taken at the famous Troll Tunga, also known as the Troll's Tongue viewpoint in Norway. The scenic cliff sits 700 meters (2,297 feet) above Ringedalsvatnet Lake and is one of the most popular natural spots in the Northern European country.

The viewpoint is reached by a long and demanding hike, the site's official website says, with walkers having to complete a 1,180-meter trek to reach it.

Norway is a popular destination for tourists from around the world. According to Statista, around a million Americans visited the Scandinavian country in 2023.

The TikTok user's video received quite a response after it was posted, with people sharing their reactions to what was captured in the comments section of the post.

"All of this just to post the picture on TikTok/insta, society became brainwashed for likes. Brainless zombies," said @laraflati.

Meanwhile, another user named Kernikon shared: "I would just walk to the end and sit down."

"I was in April there with full of snow on a cloudless sky and there was no one. I loved it," said Lukas Engl.

"I'd just go and stand there. Nothing says you have to queue," @stevegreen85 commented.

Jonah commented: "This is exactly the opposite reason I go hiking."

Peter Lambert shared: "I'd just go super early, in anti people weather or just not go. If I hiked 10km for a view, a queue of people, regardless if I wait or just walk past is not what I signed up for."

Meanwhile, Saturn said that she respects it as "usually it's just people all over the place."
