Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have a 15-2 record for the 2024-2025 season so far, and Lil Wayne, who is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan, is seemingly sick of seeing them win.
The 35-year-old recently responded to a post Lil Wayne, 42, made on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Saturday, January 18, that read, "I hate the cheating azz chiefs," seemingly accusing Travis and his team of cheating after their latest postseason win over the Houston Texans the same night.
The NFL pro and his brother, Jason Kelce, talked about the game and Lil Wayne's comment during the Wednesday, January 22, episode of their New Heights podcast. Jason, 37, first mentioned how fans were upset about the referees of the game. "The whole world was talking about something else during the game, and I'm sure you saw some of this, but they were complaining about the refs again, Trav," the former Philadelphia Eagles player said to his brother before adding, "Even Lil Wayne. Lil Wayne [posted on his X account], 'I hate the cheating a** Chiefs. So an a** with two z's."
Travis responded to the "A Milli" rapper's claims that he and his team are cheaters and simply laughed, saying, "Shout out to Tunechi (a name the rapper also goes by), man."
Fans of the rapper took to the comment section of his post, which currently has 143K likes, to share their thoughts on the bold statement.
"It's funny how you get a team with great recurring success, and people eventually point to cheating as the reason. The same thing happened during the Patriots' success," wrote one user, while a second quipped, "You know the Chiefs are doing something right when you got Wayne hating." A third user agreed with the rapper and wrote, "Their whole season has been the refs dragging them to this point!"
Travis and the Chiefs are set to take on the Buffalo Bills next at 6:30 PM EST on Sunday, January 26, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
